Perplexity by Perplexity AI – a new “AI-powered Google Search" – an answer-engine that combines LLMS reasoning with live web search to provided cited, real-time answers across the web. Publicly launched on 7 December 2022, it has grown into a well-known AI search platform and research companion. Thanks to its clear sourcing, speed and constant (near-weekly) releases of new features.

This icon applies to the core Perplexity model family, including such LLMs as pplx-7b, pplx-7b-online, pplx-70b, pplx-70b-online and more.

Sonar models: Perplexity’s Sonar, Sonar Reasoning and Sonar Pro models are branded with their own distinctive Sonar logo. Use that icon when you are specifically referencing Sonar models instead of the general Perplexity platform.
