I review 5 best tools for market research with AI and give some tips on how to use them. What are best use cases, features and pricing? Let's figure out.
Hello, my name is Artem and I've spent the last few years testing various AI tools for market research and been doing actual marketing projects with them. In this guide, I plan to share what actually works and what doesn't. Here you won’t find fancy jargon or marketing, I will try to just give some honest advice about tools that can make your market research easier and better. But first of all, the question rises.
Why Use AI for Market Research?
Before we dive into the tools, let us be clear about why AI helps with market research. I have noticed at least five things it is good at.
It can spot patterns humans might miss. AI is correct and bright in many things, but generic in others. It is our job as specialists who use ai agent for marketing, to figure out where it works well and where it still leaves much to be desired (at least, until you ask in a proper way).
It analyzes way more data than we possibly can. Especially in a tool like ChatLabs that has a lot of data analysis features and document uploads.
It saves tons of time, especially if you know how to prompt well, or use the right tools;
It helps predict future trends, for that, you just need to ask about such trend predictions and ideas for generative ai market research;
It's getting cheaper and better each year, you can even spot it by comparing how earlier you needed a lot of different subscriptions for text generating AI, a separate one for image generating and perhaps another one for market data analysis. Now, it all can work from one tool with around 20 dollars a month of a subscription.
The Best AI Market Research Tools in 2025
I know of five cool tools that help with AI in market research. Some of them do really help on each stage of your marketing campaign, and some are quite specific and niche.
ChatLabs: Your Research Assistant and All in One AI Tool
I'll start with ChatLabs because it's become y go-to tool this year. Here's what makes It Special:
It works with multiple AI models at once. That means, full and unlimited GPT-4o, Claude 3.7 Sonnet, Mistral, Grok and 200+ other AI models both for texts, images, coding, data analysis, web searches and more.
You can analyze competitor websites instantly with the best AI technologies in action, just prompt ‘search the web and analyze’ or insert exact link, for AI model to analyze it completely and with much less limits than what your generic ChatGPT usually does.
It creates surveys and analyzes responses, for that you can ask to create a document.
It has a lot of relevant assistants that you can turn on in a push of a button, like SMM assistant or SEO tool maker and more.
It helps find target audiences and analyze them. That way, I had also created entire encyclopaedeas for my marketing projects that I can extensively use for marketing campaigns.
It can process both numbers, text, code, web pages, documents and more.
It can also generate simple charts and detailed reports with your data.

Another real example: I once needed to research the startup niche in USA and Florida and this tool helped me to do it from the very start. But on a picture you can see that Claude with assistants helped to build Demographic profile of potential customers and target audience.
Also, ChatLabs once helped me to analyze 50 AI tool websites, find common prices and offerings, spot gaps in the market, create and write out customer surveys and finally, make sense of all the data because of how much it can analyze documents.
Price: Starts free, $20/month for full access of 200+ AI models including GPT4o, Claude 3.7 Sonnet, OpenAI o1 and o3, Mistral, Llama 3.2, Perplexity and much more; also it is now packed with a ton of useful features like prompt libraries or various Assistants. You can also do a lot even without any subscription, because many of the models are free.

SurveyMonkey AI
Here is another tool that can be useful. This old-school survey tool now has some relevant AI features. What is it good for?
Making better surveys
Understanding open-ended answers
Finding patterns in responses
Creating reports automatically
Example: my acquaintance used it to survey some 200 customers about their gym preferences. The AI helped then to spot that most people wanted early morning classes - it was something that wasn't obvious at first glance. Price: nearly $25/month for basic AI features

Semrush Market Explorer
If you ever done marketing research, you probably know Semrush. Its market explorer, while not so saturated with newest AI technologies, does the job! It is still very decent for understanding your market position. Here are some of the best features:
Market size estimation
Competitor tracking
Traffic analysis
Customer behavior patterns
Growth opportunities finder
Example: Some used it to help a client understand why their sports equipment wasn't selling well. The tool showed that their competitors were using different keywords and targeting younger customers.
Price: $119.95/month, also includes other SEO tools.

Google Market Finder
This is a free tool and anyone can start using it, but I find it to be surprisingly powerful. With it, you can find new markets, check market sizes, see local trends, understand customer buying power and even track some seasonal changes.
Real Example: A small toy store used it to find out which European countries might like their products. They, for example, found unexpected demand in Denmark and Scandinavia regions.
Price: Absolutely Free

Crayon
This tool is focused on competitor research. Here are some of its key features that I have noticed. First, you can track competitor changes, spot market trends, find new opportunities, monitor pricing changes and also this tool has a kind of alert system for important changes
Real Example: An online store I know used it to notice when competitors changed prices during Black Friday and that indeed helped this store to stay competitive. It is fun how a simple notification system can still be such a useful feature in 2025 😊
Price: Starts at $500/month

Practical Tips for Using AI in Market Research
While knowing the tools is one thing, knowing the ways on how to use them is, I would argue, not less important.
Start Small
Begin with one tool, learn its basic features, start with easy topics and prompts, and then gradually try more complex stuff, watch youtube tutorials and read ChatLabs blog for guides. Compare results with what you know, ask your colleagues and try various AI models and tools. Try to apply AI to different stages of your market project and research.
Check the Data
Don't trust AI blindly. I think you should always compare different sources, look out for weird results unless you need them and always ask something in line "does this make sense?" Because maybe it doesn’t, or it does and sais something that you have not understood about that marketing point, for instance.
Mix Methods
From my experience I also recommend you to use both AI and traditional research, to talk to real customers and check official statistics. Read some industry reports, studies and connect to colleagues or different specialists. Merge that with AI and… You will see much better results in your market research.
Save Money
Especially if you do not yet monetize your projects well, you should start out with free tools, use trial periods and also cancel what you don't use. When you know it will be profitable and will indeed save you time and efforst, you can invest into a subscription. But hey, it should not aways be an expensive one or a bunch of subscriptions, you can get an all in one AI tool for 20 bucks and it will do most of the needed tasks. That said, I want to explain a bit about why I use Chatlabs and why it helps in market research.

Why All-in-One Market AI Tool Stands Out
Let me now circle back to ChatLabs because unlike other tools that use just one AI model, ChatLabs lets you use 200+ top models, assistants, prompt libraries and data analysis features:
GPT-4o and 4o mini for deep analysis and market data research with web
Claude 3.7 Sonnet or Opus for creative insights
Mistral for technical stuff
Llama for different perspectives
Image generation with Stable Diffusion, Flux or DALL-E 3
Plus, with tool builder of ChatLabs you can build custom research tools without coding. It's like having many tools in one, which saves both money and time. ChatLabs also has a page with dozens of free tools to use, including for market research, product development, writing, creativity and more.

What's Next?
The best approach, in my experience, is to
Start with basic tools
Learn what works for you
Gradually add more advanced tools
Then, keep learning and testing
Also remember that decent market research is not always about having all of the fanciest tools. I think it is more about asking the right questions and understanding the answers.
