Writingmate Refund Policy

This policy applies to subscriptions sold directly by Writingmate for the Writingmate.ai web app and the Writingmate Chrome Extension. If you bought Writingmate through another seller or marketplace, that seller's refund terms and process apply.

The plan terms shown at checkout are part of this policy. If the checkout terms for your purchase are different from the general rules below, the checkout terms apply to that purchase.

Cancel a subscription

You can cancel at any time. Cancel before the renewal date shown in your account to avoid the next recurring charge.

For a current Writingmate.ai subscription:

  1. Open Profile Settings → Subscription.
  2. Select Cancel Subscription. Only a workspace owner can manage the workspace's subscription.
  3. Complete the cancellation steps and confirm the cancellation in the Stripe billing page.
  4. Return to Subscription and check the access-end date.

After cancellation, paid access continues until the end of the billing period already paid for. Cancellation stops future renewals. It does not refund a charge that has already been processed.

If you subscribed through a legacy version of the Chrome Extension, open its Billing section. If the cancellation control is unavailable, use the web instructions above or contact hello@writingmate.ai before the renewal date.

See Managing Your Subscription for more detail.

Refunds

Unless a money-back guarantee was shown at checkout, payments for Writingmate subscription plans are final and non-refundable after they are processed, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Some Writingmate checkout flows offer a 14-day full money-back guarantee. When that guarantee was shown for your purchase, you can request a refund within 14 calendar days of the purchase date. The exact checkout terms for that purchase determine eligibility.

To request an eligible refund, email hello@writingmate.ai from the address connected to your Writingmate account. Include the account email, purchase date, and invoice or receipt number when available. Do not send a full card number or other sensitive payment details.

Submitting a request does not cancel future renewals. Follow the cancellation steps above as well if you do not want the subscription to renew.

Free trials

Some plans include a trial. The trial length, renewal date, and price appear before you start it. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the trial automatically becomes a paid subscription and the payment method on file is charged.

If you cancel during the trial, trial access continues until the date shown in Subscription. Charges after a trial follow the refund rules and any guarantee shown at checkout.

Failed payments and account access

If a payment fails or remains unpaid, Writingmate may suspend paid access, limit the account, or move the workspace to the free plan. Updating a payment method does not change the cancellation or refund rules for an earlier charge.

Purchases from other sellers

Refunds for marketplace purchases must be requested from the seller that processed the payment. For example, AppSumo purchases use AppSumo's 60-day money-back guarantee and refund process. See AppSumo Plan Tiers.
