Search with the command palette

Press Command+K on macOS or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux to open Search. The palette contains three tabs:

  • All shows matching chats, prompts, and the New chat action.
  • Chats searches chat history and includes the New chat action.
  • Prompts searches your saved prompts.

The command palette does not switch models, open settings, search files, or activate agents.

Open saved prompts

The default prompt command is /. Press it while the chat input is empty to open the command palette on the Prompts tab. Select a prompt to insert or run its saved instructions.

You can replace / with another key:

  1. Open your profile menu.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Open Keyboard Shortcuts.
  4. Change Prompt command, then select Save Shortcuts.

Use a single key for the prompt command. The @ agent mention and # file command are not active shortcuts in the current chat interface.

Change how messages are sent

In SettingsKeyboard Shortcuts, set Send Message Key to one of these options:

  • Enter: press Enter to send and Shift+Enter to add a new line.
  • Cmd/Ctrl + Enter: press Command+Enter on macOS or Ctrl+Enter on Windows and Linux to send. Press Enter for a new line.

Select Save Shortcuts after changing the setting. Reset to defaults restores Enter for sending and / for saved prompts.

For the navigation items opened by these shortcuts, see Sidebar Navigation.
