Here we give an extensive list of large language models (LLMs) and AI tools based on them that can access the internet and process web searches. We ensure the information is up-to-date by including the data cut-off dates for each AI tool, helping readers stay informed about the latest in AI web search conditions.
Introduction
Hello, I am Artem from ChatLabs and we will answer quite a simple question today. There is now no doubt that AI has changed how computers, machines emulate human reasoning and pretend to be thinking or descision-making. Since its very start, AI has evolved from performing simple tasks to employing complex algorithms that learn and adapt over time. And I would say that those rapid developments has positioned AI as a crucial element in modern tech. That is impacting... well, everything, from logistics to personal entertainment.
AI’s integration into search engine has also changed how we access information everyday. And by enhancing web search capabilities with AI, these technologies provide much quicker, more accurate results. It got easier for any block of information to be tailored to individual needs, being more efficient. This personalization makes search tools more intuitive and responsive, a significant advancement in an era overwhelmed by information.
AI technologies utilize algorithms & machine learning to sift through and to analyze all of the web. So, these AI web search tools understand and predict user intent, delicvering relevant, context-aware responses. In my opinion, such a refinement in web search with AI is crucial for efficiently navigating the vast resources of the internet.
List of AI Tools That Can Access The Internet
Technology progresses, and several AI systems have emerged that do let us search the web. And each system offers some of unique features catering to diverse user needs, from academic research to private browsing. So let us finally look at some of the options available.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT, precisely the latest GPT-4o is being constantly built by OpenAI. It is one of the most popular models. Why? Because it has a truly wide range of applications in customer service, content creation, science, education, and a lot more. OpenAI has given any of us the ability of searching the web and using web data with this GPT4o model, but it has a lot of limits, day limits and only works on a consistent basis with a paid version. Still, anyone can try and it does give you consistently good answers.
ChatLabs
ChatLabs is a dynamic web platform designed to enhance your interaction with over 20 of the most renowned AI models, including names like OpenAI GPT 4o, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Gemini, Mistral, their Pro versions, and a lot more. You can use it from both your computer and mobile device (e.g. tablet or phone). ChatLabs has a Web Search plugin. It allows many different AI models to access the internet, enhancing their utility and performance. It provides not only text results, but also links to resources, and video and page previews.
Perplexity
Perplexity may be called a Wikipedia of our new age. It is a a conversational search engine with a chatbot-style interface. It does provide good answers to complex questions, making it ideal for users seeking specific information without the need to navigate through traditional search engines. It's also one of the most valuable tools for businesses that requie an automated response system for FAQs and for promoting their products and services by workers.
Gemini AI
Gemini is AI model by Google's, its latest and most advanced. Earlier you may have known it as Bard, but Google often changes those names. Google's self-evaluations show new Gemini outperforming GPT-4o on several industry benchmarks. How trustworthy is this? I would say, it mostly does perform well and sometimes better than alternatives.
But… it works in quite a similar way. And there is something more for users of other Google apps and services. Gemini is integrated with various Google services like Gmail, Google Maps, and YouTube, allowing it to provide more contextual and personalized responses.
The Gemini AI actually has internet access more widely available than ChatGPT, meaning that the model is trained on the latest and most up-to-date information found on the internet. Gemini has a more recent knowledge cut-off compared to many other LLMs and can access the internet for up-to-date information.
Microsoft Copilot
Bing AI is now called Copilot and may be even integrated into your Edge browser. This one is an AI chatbot developed by Microsoft. Inside it is, essentially, GPT. So, no huge differences to OpenAI's famous chatbot but a different interface. Yes, Copilot has access to the internet and can provide information on events and topics. A free version of Copilot has a knowledge from the web, like GPT 4o, but also has some limitations. No data cutoff date, it really searches online with few limits.
Neeva AI
Neeva AI is an AI-driven search engine feature launched by the search engine company Neeva. It is designed to provide conversational, summarized answers to user queries, rather than just a list of search results. Neeva can access and analyze information from across the internet to generate its responses. It has built a large, independent search index with billions of web pages that it continuously crawls and indexes.
Neeva AI is currently available to users in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Germany, France, and Spain, though the company plans to expand its availability.
You.com
You.com (formerly known as YouChat) is an AI assistant that operates much like a search engine. It delivers real-time web results and conversational responses to any queries or topics you enter. It's also equipped to handle technical questions, mathematics, coding, translations, and writing prompts. With the YouPro premium subscription, users gain access to renowned AI models such as OpenAI's GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo, Anthropic's Claude series, Google's Gemini Pro, and Zephyr.
Andi Search
Andi Search is an AI-powered search engine that offers a new way to explore the internet and obtain information. It uses AI throughout the entire search results, not just at the top of the page like traditional search engines.
Can Claude.ai Access the Internet?
Claude AI is very popular and trendy AI model built by Anthropic. It was earlier known as safety and research company. But Claude was designed to be a helpful and safe conversational partner. It has a slight focus on reducing risks and undesirable behavior often associated with large language models.
Regarding internet access, Claude is designed primarily for conversation and generating text based on a mixture of licensed data, data created by human trainers, and publicly available data. Claude does not browse the web in real-time, but it simulates an understanding of current events up to its last update, making it useful for general inquiries and educational purposes.
While Claude.ai does not have the capability to browse the web independently, you can enable this feature through ChatLabs AI. Here’s how to do it:
1. Visit ChatLabs: Go to https://labs.writingmate.ai and log in.
2. Upgrade to a Pro Subscription: You'll need a Pro subscription to access the web browsing features with Claude Opus.
3. Enable Web Browsing: Once logged in, navigate to "Plugins" and select "Web Browsing" to activate this feature for Claude Opus.
4. Pose Your Query: With web browsing activated, you can now ask Claude Opus any question. ChatLabs will assist Claude in gathering the most up-to-date and relevant information from the internet to provide you with an answer.
Conclusion
The advancement of AI in internet searching has significantly enhanced how we find and interact with information online. Whether for academic research, personal curiosity, or professional use, these AI tools offer tailored experiences that improve our efficiency and effectiveness in navigating the vast resources of the internet. As AI technology continues to evolve, its integration into web search tools promises even more sophisticated and intuitive search capabilities.
